Jia Ali (Urdu: جیاعلی) (with wrong spelling Gia Ali) is a Pakistani model and an actress hailing from a Punjabi Christian family. She is more of a model than an actress. Jia Ali started off at an early age of nineteen when she was discovered while working at a Pakistani salon called Depilex. At a time when very few Pakistani girls chose modelling as a career, Jia made her mark by doing many daring shoots and by sporting daring outfits on the catwalk.In 1991, Jia Ali bagged Wrangler Jeans commercial and walked the ramp for its fashion show. She was eventually approached by members of "Lollywood", Pakistan's film industry. It was while she was in Islamabad, Nabila noticed Jia Ali and introduced her to Sajjad Gul, a producer, who instantly asigned her for the movie Deewane Tere Pyar Ke. After she made it big with her debut movie, Jia Ali acted in several movies that consolidated her success at the top. But according to herself, she loves modeling more than movies, which is why she is frequently seen shuffling between Lahore and Karachi for her modeling assignments. Her brother, Munna Mushtaq, is a fashion photographer. She has four other brothers.
